Oxford Wine

Hi everyone!

You know I usually shy away from full face make-up because I don’t believe I can slay yet. I want to learn how to be more confident in it but I’m just not that focused on it. It gets so busy at work that I go to work bare-faced and trust me that isn’t good for me when a cute client shows up at our office!

So to keep things simple I now stick to a normal mascara, nude lip and eye liner routine but whenever I feel like doing some extra effort I usually go for a faint shimmery smokey eye. I have huge eyelids which is a dream for some MUA’s and I just never experiment with it.

So for today’s look I used:
·         Avroy Shlain Dark Concealer
·         Colors Foundation (from Clicks/Foshini)
·         Essence eye shadow palette in Bronze
·         Essence I love Extreme crazy volume mascara
·         Avroy Shlain ColorFull eye shadow in Black
·         Avroy Shlain brow liner in Brown
·         Avon lipstick in Oxford Wine
·         Avroy Shlain Coppelia matte lipgloss
·         Avroy Shlain lip liner in Grape
·         Avroy Shlain blush in Brown

I would definitely wear this on a night out! The lip colour is so bold and daring and absolutely perfect for autumn nights! To lighten up the look I would definitely add a hat to be make it light and fun!!

I definitely want to start filming soon and a big part of that is to not look like I just woke up! So I’ll definitely be experimenting with make-up looks (WARNING: It might remain the same!!)

So what do you guys think of the products? Do they get the job done?

Fresh Energy {A Review}

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is well. During my last stock up I decided to try new things. I work out of town now and I have to live out of my bag so I can only take essentials. Being in this environment it can get quite rough on your health and beauty habits. So I decided to add to my skincare collection!

My new client is based in a very dry, hot and humid area so I've been wearing minimal make-up and I'm always tired after work so cleaning up my face can be quite daunting. So when I saw the Simple exfoliating wipes I just had to give them a try. I've also seen Shirley and Suzi use them so I was curious to get into the hype.

Amazing product! It's extremely effective and not harsh to my skin. I really hope they re-stock them because they will now become part of my out of town suitcase! Each pack has 25 wipes which is more than enough for roughly a full work month. Definitely a mush have! I was also excited to see that they have other products that I'll definitely be trying in future!

My normal exfoliator was running out and I had the option between the Garnier scrub and face wash or Neutrogena, and I'm glad I decided to go with the one I wasn't sure about because it's currently exceeding ALL my expectations. The pink one was originally my first choice but because it's summer I'm all about the greens and its freshness. I've been having a lot of issues with my face lately and I really just feel clear and fresh after using my new scrub. Definitely a hit!

I found my wipes at PicknPay and I'm sure they can be found at Clicks and Dischem as well. Try it out!

What has your experience been with Neutrogena?

Let me know below!!

Review ~ Black Opal Foundation

Hey Everyone!

I’ve had my fair share of using really bad foundation that’s either the wrong shade or it was too rich and oily. When I tried out the tester I found it to be thick and it had quite a full coverage on my face. It also came off as matte which I really appreciated because I was tired of being a glowy bear. So after speaking to a consultant about it, she suggested Hazelnut and after trying it I bought it.

First time using it I found it to be a bit more watery than what it was in the tester tube and because of its matte element, it would dry out quite quickly which was quite difficult to manage. But after the second/third time I just had to adapt to applying it quicker.

I found that it doesn’t last all day. Towards the end of my day it seemed like I could’ve gone without it. Except for the colour and its matte element I would definitely not go back here if it doesn’t give me coverage all day every day. A thicker layer would just make me look more cakey so that’s definitely not a remedy in this situation. Or maybe a different shade?

Have you ever tried Black Opal?

How was your experience like?

Review ~ Avon Primer

Hey everyone!!

As a first time user of primers I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product. From all the videos I’ve watched most make-up gurus used Urban Decay and seeing that I’ve never seen it anywhere when I’m looking for make-up products I thought Avon would be a good place to start.

I love the packaging and its design. I always look at that because it was someone’s job to make it look buyable. I can always throw it in my carry on make-up bag because it’s small and portable. The formula is rich and matte and also stays on all day. It blends in really well (I used my fingers) and it gives the eyeshadow a reliable base.

I am in the market for another primer (for comparisons) but overall I’ve had no regrets buying it as a first time primer.

Have you tried it out?
What’s your experience been with this primer?

Confidence to start a Youtube Channel.

Hi everyone!

This topic was inspired by Stacey and Sophie!!

I have a beginner sort of youtube channel with no set schedules or any video that’s gone past 250 views or went viral. And that’s a good thing because it’s giving me time to ease into it until I’m set to deliver quality videos that have a lot of followers.

Review - Avon Winter Nails and Lips

Hi everyone!

At the end of May I ordered these two Avon products because I wanted some winter colours for work. I don’t wear a lot of make-up at work so I turn it up in the nails and lipstick department. So when I looked around I found this perfect shade of nail polish and lipstick from Avon Cosmetics.

Lipstick
So when I first had it on it come off as a dark pink and I was quite puzzled because I thought I picked the wrong shade. But with a second layer it really comes alive. It has enough moisture to not make your lips dry and also enough to last all day. I only re-applied after lunch and it stayed on till past 6pm!

Nail polish

To continue my burgundy winter trend I thought this nail polish would look amazing seeing that I’ve only stuck to pastels in the past. But a lot of people were quite attracted to it and they also gave it a try. I had it only for an entire workweek and I was very satisfied with how long it stayed on. I applied 2 layers which also made it look more vibrant.

Have you guys used Avon Cosmetics before?

What's been your experience?

How to take a man search break

Hi everyone!!

As part of resolutions and scary birthdays where you realize that you’re not getting any younger we (girls) tend to take drastic measures to correct all the years of being single! Admit it!

Lol, but I think after a couple of months of exploring in #theyearoffindingbae we realize that it’s not easy to put your heart out there. The vulnerability. The danger. The compromises. The withdrawl.

I think that when you start changing  like letting your emotions run wild fuelled with jealousy and rage because of the hurt you feel when some of these flirtations/brief relationships don’t work out -then you must know that it’s time to take a break.

These tips will help:
1.       Cut out those people that were too toxic to be around. That made you doubt yourself or diminished your values and questioned things that were the foundation of your existence. They’ll just continue to do that until there’s nothing left. Typically when he abandons you (eventually) - you won’t know what a healthy relationship feels like.

How to do that?
·         Delete their number from your phone
·         Block any incoming calls from them
·         Have NO communication with them.
·         Don’t ‘accidently’ bump into them. Shop elsewhere.

2.       Hang around other single positive people. Not people who talk about their ex all the time. Or someone who’s prone to one night stands or any other random sexual encounters because they’ll probably want to tell you about them. Be with other girls who are about to start a new project or are being promoted or people who travel just so that you can talk about anything other that longing for someone.

3.       Decide to put your journey on hold. I feel like finding someone shouldn’t be a goal. It’s like people trying to get pregnant. I feel like if you force it – that’s when it won’t happen for you. The most amazing love story I’ve ever heard was of Michelle Phan and Dom. She was just having a cup of coffee in Paris as part of exploring the city and when Dom saw her, he knew. I mean who knew he was even going to be there? And he’s been her biggest love ever since.

4.       Continue being confident! Wear heels. Don’t leave the house without make-up. Always add to your Victoria’s Secret collection! Just because you’re not looking for him doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t look for you! Be radiant ALL the time! Beauty really starts from within and you should continue taking it to higher levels.

There’s no bigger compliment than: ‘SHE’S BEAUTIFUL…INSIDE AND OUT’!!

How to get Berry Lips - Part one

Hi everyone!!

Today I'm doing an unusual tutorial because I've never really done a make-up look on the blog before. So since starting work I've stuck to neutrals on my lips but every now and again I'll go all badgirl berry for fun. So today I'm showing you how I put the look together without actually having all the 'right' tools!

This is the look!
What do you guys think?

Step 1: I use my mom's grape lipliner to line my lips. I've found that without it I struggle to use a lip crayon or a normal lipstick because I just find myself looking like a hot mess. So lipliners have literally saved my life.

Step 2: the strange part - Here I use Red as my 'base' for my matte lipgloss because I don't have a grape/plum lipstick yet. It has a lot of moisture so it's perfect to act as a foundation for the next step.

Step 3: Apply matte lipgloss! Guys I luuuurve this lipgloss. Spoke about it in a previous post and I'm stick sooo addicted to it!

These are my tools!

Coppelia Colour  lipstick in 'Crimson Red'
Coppelia Colour matte lipgloss
Colorlook lipliner in 'grape'

All these products can be found at Avroy Shlain. Avon is also a pretty good option!

Review > Bronzing Pearls

At first glance I really didn't know what this was.

Until I looked it up in the launching brochure and got totally excited to try it out!!
I've recently tried to increase my make-up brush collection so I think its better to just use a brush when applying this product.

So after the highlighting and contouring you can apply the pearls to really add onto the glow so that it can give you a luxurious sparkly finish.

You just pat your brush in the container or use the tool already provided to roll the pearls before applying it to your face.

When I first used it I found it to be 'quiet' which would be perfect for a normal day at work and I figured that you''ll just use more when you're going out or having some sort of glam event!

Recommended areas - nose, cheeks and forehead!
I will gladly provide a Get Ready With Me video to explain the process!

So if you want to spoil yourself this Christmas - get em pearls on your face girl!!

Do you guys know similar products to this? From other make-up brands?

The Beige Way

Hi everyone!

This was a couple of days ago! This beautiful red scarf belongs to my moma! So lately I've been wearing a lot of things from her wardrobe! They're mostly very big on me but I thought it would be interesting to live in the slouchy wear world for a while! As you know- I've been exploring the world of beige as of late and now also a bit of brown. I hated that colour for sooo long because I've always found it to be dull and 'a cry for help' so here I added the shoes to complete the look so that the beige wouldn't be a 'stand alone' colour.

What do you think?

Breezy Flow

Hey everyone!!

Quick update!

I'm at home so goodbye anytime internet access which means that I will not uploading consistently until I can live in a city again! I will, however, be using an internet cafe to load quick ootds and a few reviews.

So it's been super windy and cold here at home and also super humid at the same time. I have afro type hair so it's very difficult to maintain it myself so I just lock it up in bigsize cornrows!!
You'll be seeing this A LOT!!

When I came home I wore this last minute Cotton On purchase and it has really become a staple piece. Really light fabric and bold print makes it an effortless choice for a breezy ootd. A winter hat would have been an awesome way to accessorize it!

Date Night #2 || Olive

Hi everyone!!

I think that this week my mind has been in a 'what if' mode. Naturally, I hate feeling this way because it's like a master class of worrying and I'm the only one in attendance. So I thought I'd blog more and make more videos. Then I realized that I have like zero clothes or I'm sick of my current clothes! So this weekend I've scheduled a much needed total world class shopping experience!!!

I'm currently in the middle of a lookbook on my channel and I've done a flirty and classy look so I was looking for a more boyfriend x fancy combo so this is what I came up with!!

Lemme know what you think!

You can also try it with beige/leopard print flats!

Date night || Flirty circle skirt

Hi everyone!!

So ..today I had a good day! My friend is getting married in 2 months so I went with her all over town to find some bridesmaid dresses. It's such an amazing experience and later on a knot started forming in her stomach when she suddenly realized how 'real' all of it was. To be honest I'd be freaking out sooo soo much if I was in her shoes!

This knot also forms within me whenever I'm in skirts. This one I bought with my eyes closed because I didn't want to change my mind once I had it. And the one time I wore it, I felt really uneasy.
I have a leg showing shyness(if that's an illness?) so I assume background wherever I
am, but this one is a real headturner! So if you want to accomplish that, get one of these for the summer real soon!!
