Shirtdress Stylin’

Hi everyone!

So a while back I got this fab shirtdress from Mr Price and it was not winter yet so it was the perfect piece for a little tweak in my wardrobe. And then suddenly in the morning I ironed it so that it could be everythang for work and I accidentally burnt it…

First thing that I felt after that was a tear rolling down my cheek. I just couldn’t believe what happened! After that I was literally on the phone with my mom because somebody needed to help me carry this tragedy STAT!! And I knew I had made the right choice because in the middle of my sobs, Mom said that she also burnt a new item the first time she was going to wear it and spent 10 minutes crying about it which made her late for work! haha!!(I love that woman)

So on a lighter note I decided that seeing that I can’t wear it, I can definitely style it! I mean what what’s the point of letting it go to waste?! I’ve always wanted a shirtdress. Mostly inspired by Samantha Maria but I thought that hers looked too London Fashion Week and I needed something more practical.

So overall I thought it was very comfortable and easy to style. Very breezy and very light. Originally I wanted to style it with a red lip and minimal strappy black heels. But I wanted to do a pink make-up look so I ended up styling the shirtdress around it.

I styled this look with this gorgeous clutch that I got as a gift from my mom that she got from The Box that I'll tell you guys about soon! It was the perfect elegant piece that just fit in perfectly with this look!

Thank you for stopping by!

Flirty Florals

Hi everyone!

We're headed to winter right now and even though buying dresses now might be a waste I just can't stop getting more. It's like the first thing I see when I walk into a store. So a while ago I got a similar dress to this in a bigger size because I wanted it to have that don't care vibe to it but it just ended up looking big and flumpy so I got this one to replace and I couldn't be happier!

The material is easy and light and the florals are so vibrant and it just moves so easily! Definitely the best new add to my wardrobe.

What do you guys think? How cute is this dress? I don't know what's up with me and brownish dusty obsession! So weird!

Pastels & Platforms

Happy Monday!

So as of late everything I buy is geared towards comfort. As much as I love the whole bodycon skirt look but every now and again the body has got to breathe!

So now I look for comfortable yet stylish pieces like this beautiful shift dress from MrPrice. The shoes are from Fashion Express and by far one of my most worn platforms because of the comfort!

New Year's Eve:: Burgundy Lace

Hi Everyone!

I think it's safe to say that I'm obsessed with lace!! I think whenever I'm looking for a nice party dress my options are pretty pastels and lace dresses!

I wore this beautiful burgundy dress at my friend's wedding in March! It's also a Mr Price dress just like the one in the previous post! It's also safe to say that I live in those stores! Haha!!

I think with this option you can go on a NYE datenight  where you can spend the last few hours of 2015 and early hours of 2016 with your one and only. After that you guys can definitely join the party all around town!!

The shoes are from Legit and they also have a brown/nude and pink/orange option!

Affordable Party Dresses

Hi everyone!

Omw guys, I've been procrastinating so much lately. Creating a lust list has literally been on my to do list for the longest time and I've just never shared it with you guys. Omw, deepest apologies!!

I'm going to start off with simple and affordable options from Legit and MrPrice. I think those two outlets fit everyone's pocket and that it's super stylish for parties around December. I wanted to create several options for you guys so in this post it will just be the classic little black dress.

The skater dress is amazing for people with wider hips and girls with amazing shoulders. The sheer dress is for girls with a lean body and giraffe legs and who are a bit shy about their arms (yes, girls like that exist) and then the black and white dress is basically for the average height girl who want to show off some curves and then that last dress will cater for girls with abs.

I hope you guys love this selection!!

Lace Top and Bow Skirt

Hi everyone!!

Over the weekend I was experimenting with some looks. I've never thought about this combination until I started looking around for some neutral colours! Since then this has been my favourite pairing!

I would wear this for drinks with the girls or some sort of cocktail function or even date night on a hot summer night!!

I know some of you guys have the skort - which was one of the trends last summer so that could easily be paired with a nice lace top for effortless chic!

What do you guys think?

I hope you guys are doing well!!

So a while ago I got this midi skirt and I just didn't have anything that could go with it so it just gathered dust in my closet until I found this crop top! And then suddenly the world made sense again!

I haven't worn this out yet and I thought I would share the combo with you guys!

Workable Print

Hi everyone!!

I've been drowing in bodycon/pencil skirts recently so it's pretty much dominating my closet right now! So this is one of the looks I have for work! This skirt is so amazing because the print is perfect for a variety of colours(normally I keep the top plain) and I personally think it can fit any body shape!!

HOW TO shop for boys| BASICS

Hi everyone!

So recently an old friend of mine asked me to help him set up a new wardrobe.

Some background…This one time I went out to breakfast with him, he wore blue trackpants, white sneakers and a hoodie – let’s just say I had a lot of meditation to do on our way there. But it didn’t really bother me because I knew that that’s probably what he found ‘comfortable’. LAAAWD!!

Keep in mind is that this guy is a bit shy, nerdy and about my height if I’m wearing flats.

My focus is to find him a comfortable wardrobe and add a little something extra.
Make him a bit noticeable.

So I’m thinking more Adam Levine/Lunga Shabalala/Lala’s Chris/Chris Pine/Aldis Hodge
If you don’t know Aldis Hodge – he’s that gorg guy on Leverage!! I’ve married him a couple of times while I was daydreaming.

So here’s what I’m what I’m looking for.

-A lot of basic tees. I also have to keep in mind that winter is around the corner so I’ll also be getting some long-sleeved ones.
-Up to 4/5 new quality denim pants. I’m not really into skinny jeans for guys. Some guys just can’t pull it off. So I’ll opt for that 5th one to be a beige/dark green chino. It doesn’t stand out too much to draw eyes to him.
-I also love a good old fashioned denim jacket so I prefer those thrifted. But not for a denim on denim look. Again – some guys just can’t pull it off. I also want to add casual blazer in there and one leather jacket(only if he looks good in it)
-For some winter gear. Guys, I’m a total sucker for a guy in amazing knitwear. Especially if he’s rocking that look with a 3 day old stubble and grey beanie? I just say my husband flash in front of me ( #justsaying). So I’ll be looking around for some cardigans and wool jerseys.
-And then shirts. I have no problem with a white shirt and black tie. But seriously get some colour in there! I think light-skinned guys can pull off darker colours. But dark-skinned guys should stay away from those colours and stick to the lighter side of the colour palette. Right now I’m into the white/blue combinations, soft pink/purple colours and the ones with a distinctive print. I think they look gorg on anyone. Just a sidenote – blonde guys should never wear light green. Omw.
Every guy has shoes and belts. But I think I’ll get this guy a brown combination. I lot of guys have been rocking that with blue suits! So gorg. On anyone! I’m not really a fan of belt buckles so I’d keep it clean and simple.
I think guys should have shoes for every occasion too. Not the same shoes for every occasion! Sneakers are fine. Just pick their days. Also, there’d different types of sneakers so have days for them too. Formal shoes for me shoes look classy. Not with gold/silver studs or to long that it curls up at the front (goodness!) Also (this is a preference) the shine should be minimal. I’d rather have you earrings that have the shoes do that function.
A new look isn’t complete without trying a new hairstyle. For guys – the options are limited but I’d like to think that nerds are wildcards so they can pretty much try anything because they’ve stuck ‘to what works’ for a long time. So that celebrity hairstyle that’s on your phone? Get it done!
As I’m writing this I’m realizing how much more I have to say! So let’s call this part one of minimal style for guys. If you guys want to discuss it further please let me know in the comments below!
What would you add to make my friend’s wardrobe more complete? How different/similar is your style?

Blue and Brown MisMatch

Hi everyone!

Shut down my blog last week because I needed to focus on looking for a job. And honestly - it was the best decision ever. Drawing up a schedule made me feel in control but last week I just couldn't stick to it and I'm terribly sorry for that.

But I'm here now and so excited to share this Sunday outfit!

To be honest I would have never put this together because I just always know that I wear pants with this blouse but decided to take a risk and this was the result!

What do you think? Leave a comment below!

My hair is such a hot mess but it just reminded me of slightly worn out white All Stars and they always look better when they look like you just picked them up from the street!! Lol!!

Fifty shades of BLUE

Hi everyone!!

I hope you are all well!!

I think this style truly represents me! Effortless, chic and means business!(lol) or atleast that's how I feel in it! Recently, I went to the flea market with my mother and I picked up this crisp and clean shirt and I just fell in love! Tried it on and fell deeper! And I just couldn't wait to style it.

Here I've paired it with a pair of amazing skinny jeans from Edgars that I got last year and these FashionWorld heels and I just thought it would tie the look together nicely.

Leave your thoughts below the post!! Would love to get your view on it!

Classic NYE look

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a fantastic entry into the new year!

I'll be quick!
Here I created a sort of dinner party look. I'm not into clubbing or crowdy places so I'll probably always spend my new year indoors and just having a good reflective evening with close friends and good food!

The look is sort of dramatic because I still wanted that classic look and what better than a bright red lip?! I hope you like it! Talk to me in the comments section! xx
