LA Girl Matte Flat Velvet Lipsticks Review

Hi everyone!

It’s been FOREVER. I hope you are all well and beautiful! I feel like I’ve missed everything this year. I also feel like I’ve missed all the trends and hypes. I still don’t have an Iphone or Snapchat and I feel exhausted coming from an out of town client where I was working 24/7 and driving for days.

While I was in the Northern Cape one of my colleagues was wearing this gorgeous brown matte lipstick and I just could not help but to ask her about it. She said she got it from Dischem of all places!! I’ve always looked for L.A girl but I always thought that Clicks would have it. So I was super excited to finally find it!

So to start off I knew I wanted the brown one so I had options between ‘Spicy’ and ‘Runway’. They only had ‘Runway’ in the tester (which is the one I wanted) but had to go with ‘Spicy’ and I’m actually very happy with it) and I knew I wanted a bold red because I wanted Ruby Woo and I can’t afford it right now because I’m in credit recovery.

Okay, let’s get to the goodies:
·         It’s so moisturizing. I’ve been on the matte groovy train so I know how drying matte lipsticks can be so I was so surprised how moisturizing it was. I only re-applied it twice throughout the day after meals and it just stayed gorgeous and full.
·         It smells amazing. Look, I don’t expect lipsticks to smell any kind of way but if it does it’s definitely a plus for me!
·         The colours are so bold. That’s such a plus for me in a lip colour. I need it to show up! And I’m so impressed with how gorgeous both the colours are on my skintone.
·         It’s only R59.99!

The bad
·         This is more like a recommendation – always apply balm balm or Vaseline before you apply the lipstick. It just looks unflattering on chapped lips!

Let me know what you think when you try it!

Affordable Christmas Dinner Beauty Essentials!

Hi everyone!!

So as we speak I'm on my way home to spend Christmas with my family! For some reason I hope it rains because I want to be able to wear my beautiful lace dress that I got for the dinner.

On our Christmas days we've always just come together for dinner, took a few pictures and just continued with the day. This year I asked my mom to buy a tree because we've spent the last 6 years without one. And a Christmas tree just ties everything together in my opinion!

So to prepare for the dinner I got some key things all under R250 so that you can keep Christmas shopping under control.

I saw these cute palettes by Essence(Roses, Greys, Neutrals and Bronze) and got the Bronze one because I just thought it will go well with the dinner party theme and my dress is burgundy so I thought it will also fit well with the dress.
I sort of lost my eyeshadow brush so I picked up this one to try it out (I seriously need to start my brush collection already omw). Hopefully it works well!
And then the red nail polish was so unplanned and to be honest I do not like red on my nails but I'm just so focused on putting the whole Christmas look together so I think it will look spectacular!
Can't wait to try out my falsies! They just look sooo amazing!!
The mask is for after Christmas - my skin will definitely deserve a 20 minute session and also because it was recommended to use the mask twice in the first week of use.

Have you guys used Sorbet face masks? What can you tell me about them?

Also...how will you guys spend your Christmas?

Love,

Fresh Energy {A Review}

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is well. During my last stock up I decided to try new things. I work out of town now and I have to live out of my bag so I can only take essentials. Being in this environment it can get quite rough on your health and beauty habits. So I decided to add to my skincare collection!

My new client is based in a very dry, hot and humid area so I've been wearing minimal make-up and I'm always tired after work so cleaning up my face can be quite daunting. So when I saw the Simple exfoliating wipes I just had to give them a try. I've also seen Shirley and Suzi use them so I was curious to get into the hype.

Amazing product! It's extremely effective and not harsh to my skin. I really hope they re-stock them because they will now become part of my out of town suitcase! Each pack has 25 wipes which is more than enough for roughly a full work month. Definitely a mush have! I was also excited to see that they have other products that I'll definitely be trying in future!

My normal exfoliator was running out and I had the option between the Garnier scrub and face wash or Neutrogena, and I'm glad I decided to go with the one I wasn't sure about because it's currently exceeding ALL my expectations. The pink one was originally my first choice but because it's summer I'm all about the greens and its freshness. I've been having a lot of issues with my face lately and I really just feel clear and fresh after using my new scrub. Definitely a hit!

I found my wipes at PicknPay and I'm sure they can be found at Clicks and Dischem as well. Try it out!

What has your experience been with Neutrogena?

How to Disconnect

Hi everyone!

Last year was a pretty awful year and so many things just went wrong. I was exhausted - mentally, physically and just so emotionally drained. If you really want to be happy be sure that you know what you want to become before you run off to college because it’s really in those last moments when you’ll have to decide if something is really worth it. Learnt that the hard way.

So I’m going to take you through the journey I went through when my world came crashing down. To be clear - this ended up being the best thing that has happened to me. When you’re a level 2 control freak like me, your world no longer makes sense when you’re not in control.
So this is what I went through to completely let go:

Go home.

Delete your Facebook account. Don’t just avoid it. Delete it and never go back till you’re ready. All you’re missing is just people having a good time and that will make you feel worse about what you’re going through.

Log out of Twitter. If you want to follow recent fashion trends or follow people who do positive things like pastors and motivational speakers – then open up another twitter account and only follow them. When you’re better you can always delete it and go back to the one you had.

Delete Whatsapp. If you have caring friends then they’ll obviously worry about you. You know you’re not okay so imagine them asking you if you’re okay everyday? It will drive you insane!! Cut off all communication.

Tell your friends in advance. If you’re going on a journey of total isolation, it
doesn’t mean that people will stop looking for you. So tell your friends that you need some time. It’s important to assure them that you will let them know when you’re available again. I took 3 months for me to be alone and having friends who understood that made it a do-able journey.

Tell your family to leave you alone. If you have a mom like mine, something like that is not easy and was an ongoing struggle for me. She just didn’t understand what I was going through. She wanted me to have ‘a plan’ and for the first time I wanted to let go of all my plans and she wouldn’t let me. It will always end up in an argument, then I’ll cry and she’ll let me have a day or 2 and then start pecking at me again. Up until one day my cousins spoke to her and she gave me some breathing room. If your family doesn’t listen to you get someone who they will listen to, to speak to them.

Make a decision about atleast one thing. When at cross roads you definitely know that one of those roads are definitely not worth travelling. You’re not sure about it but you definitely know it won’t bring you happiness. Sometimes your family will force you to go on it because they think it’s what is best for you and because the one you want has no promises. It is here where you need to take a stand a make a decision that you know will benefit you in the long run.
Prayer. Obviously we are all different. But through my journey all I could do was pray. Pray that I didn’t make the wrong decision and also that something will happen that will show me where to go. Since then I’ve been so blessed and showered with favour. And that’s another thing about things just happening…it’s hard. It comes with other factors that will test how much you want this new thing that’s just been handed to you. Perseverance is key.
I feel like I can talk all day about this topic because it has really shaped my life to where it is now. I feel different and I can say that I’m happy about letting go. It’s truly liberating!
Talk soon

Review > Bronzing Pearls

At first glance I really didn't know what this was.

Until I looked it up in the launching brochure and got totally excited to try it out!!
I've recently tried to increase my make-up brush collection so I think its better to just use a brush when applying this product.

So after the highlighting and contouring you can apply the pearls to really add onto the glow so that it can give you a luxurious sparkly finish.

You just pat your brush in the container or use the tool already provided to roll the pearls before applying it to your face.

When I first used it I found it to be 'quiet' which would be perfect for a normal day at work and I figured that you''ll just use more when you're going out or having some sort of glam event!

Recommended areas - nose, cheeks and forehead!
I will gladly provide a Get Ready With Me video to explain the process!

So if you want to spoil yourself this Christmas - get em pearls on your face girl!!

Do you guys know similar products to this? From other make-up brands?

Lips :: Berry on the Go!

Hi everyone!!

Quick Review today!

Today I'm wearing this Avroy Shlain Coppelia lipgloss and it is sooo interesting!

So the good side is that you can wear it without a lipstick as a base so if you forgot your lipstick at home...you can totally rock it on its own!!
Also the colour is sooo there! You can talk and talk and talk and the colour will not fade! And...it doesn't stick on your clothes or your coffee cup!!

The not so good side..is that because it's matte- it's extremely dry so I can't laugh properly!
So I think you can add some Vaseline on it to be make it more flexible but sooner or later you'll start to see cracks on your lips. So in my opinion it's best to wear it without any additions!

This is what it looks like at the end of the day

M.A.C step One

Heloooo;)!

I hope you are all good!! Yesterday I did 2 things I never do..Buy quality jeans and buy expensive make-up!! But I'm super happy with my purchases and even more excited to share my first ever M.A.C lipstick. I knew I wanted a neutral colour to start off with so that I could wear it most days and to see if it works for me. And it absolutely does! I love the colour, the moisture, the slight shimmer and the amazing scent!! It was R195 which is ridiculous for my budget but I just told myself that it I'll probably get used to it once I have a magical salary!!lol!

Burnt Orange Beauty

Helloo!!

Long time, no blogging! Today I wore this beautiful knitted dress type outfit to church and I couldn't wait to show it off! Probably because the colour is way out of my normal 'comfort' colours so I just closed my eyes and bought it! The sun is out and about but its still a bit breezy so as a South African resident that just means that its cold and therefore you must boot up! I'm starting my tests on Tuesday so I'll be MIA again for about 2 weeks!

Let me know what you think?!

My booties are so far from clean ...!

So apart from that...
I hope you like it!
