Dark & Lovely Amla Legend Deep Treatment Review

Hi everyone!

Long time, no talk! Today I have a review because I just luuuurve trying new products and I have missed reviewing them! On the hot seat today is the Dark & Lovely Amla Legend Black Shine Recovery Deep Treatment.

I don’t really like deep treatment serums because I don’t really see the difference in my hair but then again the last time I tried it I had relaxed hair and I’m not sure if that had a difference in the outcome. Or so I hope…
So, a few days ago I decided to give it a try because I still have relaxed tips and I was scared that the fact that I never trim it or deep treat it is the reason why it doesn’t grow as fast. So two options arose: cut the tips yourself and try a deep treatment.

So when I was at Clicks a few days ago I looked around for some deep treatment options and I decided to try the Dark & Lovely options. To try to accommodate the process I also got the Amla Legend black shine shampoo and I absolutely loved the thick moisture and scent. I always start with another shampoo to get the dirt out and then go over with the Dark & Lovely oil moisturizing shampoo.

I applied the deep treatment after the conditioner and left it on for about 10 minutes and covered it with a plastic bag(alternative to shower cap *wink wink*) and washed it out. I don’t think I felt an immediate change because my hair was its usual stubborn ‘self’ when I was detangling it in preparation for air drying. I hope that with frequent use I’ll be able to see some results.

See you on soon!!

Aunt Jackie's Curls & Coils REVIEW

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while! I got done with work for the year on Thursday and then I spent 3 days just passed out because my body would not function! So then I thought it would be great to take some time off social media and just relax. That did not last too long because it just felt like the time was just slipping by. I recently turned 25 (which I’ll talk about in a separate post) so there’s literally NO MORE TIME LEFT ON THIS EARTH!

I had so many videos planned and it was so hard to execute because there was simply no time. Some of them now fell into the cracks because I didn’t write them down or plan them properly so the ones I do remember will be up on my channel EVERY DAY THIS WEEK. AND YES – I’M ALREADY EXHAUSTED! I NEED TO HAVE A MASSAGE SCHEDULED ASAP!

As part of my videos this week I got to use Aunt Jackie’sCurls & Coils products after I took out my braids. I don’t have the whole range but I bought the ones I needed at the time because Clicks had a 3 for 2 special running on them (You pay for 2 products and get the cheapest one free).

So the Edge Control was the most expensive (R147.95) and truly a waste of money. Maybe I don’t know what Edge control is supposed to do but so sticky it almost didn’t move to the point where I had to dig it out with my nails. I really wish I can find an edge control that is actually friendly to my edges and a bit easy to manage because when I bought it said ‘smoothing gel’ but it was not smooth AT ALL!

This week was my first time using the Moisturizing &Softening Conditioner (R69.95) and I was very impressed with it! I love the smooth formula and it’s really easy to apply and it smells divine!! I wrapped it in a plastic cap and my hair was super soft by the time I unwrapped it. I’m definitely going back to this product. I used to use the Sunsilk conditioner which was ‘practical’ but this one is like a pudding with is absolutely fantastic!!

The last product I got was the Curl La La Defining CurlCustard (R59.95) which is why I looked for the range in the first place. I was looking for a product to use when I was going to try out a flat twist for the first time and I found out that Aunt Jackie’s is available at Clicks!! You can use it on wet and dry hair and also loved the smell! Definitely making this product part of my routine!

I definitely want to try their Curling Gel & Hair Milk! The 3 for 2 promotion ends on 24 Dec 2016!

I hope this review is helpful!

Have you guys heard of Aunt Jackie’s Curls & Coils before? Are you happy with it?

(All these products and the rest of the range is available at Clicks)

Classic NYE look

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a fantastic entry into the new year!

I'll be quick!
Here I created a sort of dinner party look. I'm not into clubbing or crowdy places so I'll probably always spend my new year indoors and just having a good reflective evening with close friends and good food!

The look is sort of dramatic because I still wanted that classic look and what better than a bright red lip?! I hope you like it! Talk to me in the comments section! xx

It's all about that Hair!

Hi everyone!

So a couple of weeks ago I decided to take a little break from weaves and stuff. Problem is - I know nothing about maintaining hair!! And.. I also can't buy everything at the hair shop! So my hair is really coarse and dry. So after I washed it(it's super prone to dandruff) I didn't use a dryer(I don't have one) and I also didn't detangle(I just can't) so it's been a rough coupe of weeks. However I'm quite suprised at how these products have made my life a bit okay. All these products are available at hair shops or even grocery stores!

First up is this amazing shampoo!
Let me just say-my hair has never felt cleaner!!
I am however disappointed on day 2 because I thought it would have retained some of the oil in the hair but my hair went back to its natural dryness. It smells amazing during the wash and also today!
So I think this product is a must have!! I applied it twice and only on the second time you'll experience the true value of this product!

Next day I used this awesome Moisturiser!
All I can say is that it's quite rich and it will help you hair feel smooth enough for your to mould it into anything you want!It also smells amazeballs!

Next up is the Oil of 7 wonders. Maybe I didn't read the instructions but this oil doesn't blend with my hair, so I've just been using it on my scalp to keep it from being a dessert! For that purpose only -I'd say that it is more than effective. What do you use it for?

Last but not least is this 'lifesaver'
At first I guess I expected it to be more creamy but its watery texture isn't making me feel confident enough that it is working. Am I expecting too much too soon?

This post is so weird! Never thought I'd ever talk about hair!!
Please leave a comment to help me use them more effectively or what they can be 'grouped' with for the best results!!

xx
